"Voted New Restaurant of the Year in South Africa by the Mercedes-Benz Eat Out Restaurant Awards 2016, Foxcroft was opened to much fanfare by Scot Kirton - the country’s top chef and proprietor at the internationally acclaimed La Colombe – together with his long-time and highly talented pastry chef, Glen Foxcroft Williams.

With fresh and creative, seasonal food, that is packed with flavour and beautifully presented, the restaurant lives up to its hype. The 7-day dry aged duck breast may be served with turnips, fermented plum, gem squash and kale. The spring tempura may come with fermented chilli mayo and house-made ponzu.

The tapas-style champagne-poached oyster dish alone is worthy of a visit. But do not forget to save room for one of the sumptuous desserts, which are truly irresistible: cashew-and-lime rose panna cotta, or elderflower doughnuts, litchi milk ice and raspberries.

The wine list is amazing. It is full of gems from the Cape’s wine regions – Swartland, Stellenbosch, Hemel-en Aarde, and Constantia itself.

There is a lovely in-house bakery filled with freshly baked croissants, breads, macaroons and pastries.

The decor and design is chic and modern in a laid-back style with wood, tan leather, earthy tones and warm hues. Locally designed pieces have been used throughout the restaurant, from Dark Horse’s leather bar chairs and lighting by Emerging Creatives to joinery by Bespoke Joinery and custom-made tiles from Southern Art Ceramic Design.  Foxcroft also has an inviting outdoor seating area."
